Laetitia is a data scientist with a strong background in computer engineering and mathematics, passionate about deep reinforcement learning for development. She undertook her internship at the Rwanda Revenue Authority (RRA) where she developed an RRA knowledge portal for serving information and knowledge through the web. “Now if one needed information, data or report either for knowledge, academic, or research purposes, they do not have to go to an RRA office... all the information is now served through the web portal I developed”, said Laetitia. She gives credit to AIMS for adequately preparing her for this task: “I am very sure that AIMS is the secret behind my success. Firstly, AIMS prepared me with problem-solving skills. I learned from AIMS, the spirit of believing in myself, problem-solving and hard work”. RRA is the government body mandated to collect revenue for the Government of Rwanda through tax collection and other activities. The knowledge portal will improve RRA’s interaction with tax-payers and improve on services, including tax collection. Prior to joining AIMS, Laetitia undertook her undergraduate studies at the University of Rwanda where she earned a BSc in computer engineering.
