Honestly at the beginning, it was a bit challenging due to the culture differences, but the community is quite welcoming so it was easy to fit in, both at the university and the social life”
Ola was selected for a short research stay at the Group for Research in Decision Analysis (GERAD), Montréal under the framework of the AIMS-IVADO partnership. Working on “Planning in Home Health Structure using Reinforcement Learning”, she used Reinforcement Learning to develop a novel framework to solve the patient-caregiver matching problem, towards real-world social impact by increasing the general well-being of patients and making significant progress towards integrating HHC in health care systems. “Visiting Montréal was one of the most incredible and unforgettable experiences I’ve ever been through in my life so far! Ola came to AIMS with an MSc in Information Security and a BSc in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Khartoum.
