“My stay in Montreal was a wonderful and enriching experience of research, learning, collaborative work and discovery. I particularly liked the professionalism with which my supervisor, Prof Brigitte Jaumard leads his team, the friendly atmosphere in our laboratory and the support of the entire IVADO team. It was magical”.
During a short research stay at Group for Research in Decision Analysis (GERAD), Montréal, Junior worked on “Reinforcement learning for Routing, Modulation and Spectrum Assignment (RMSA) problem”. His research focuses on the use of reinforcement learning to solve the problem of routing and spectrum allocation for transmissions in elastic optical networks, a crucial issue for telecommunications operators. Using Python, Tensorflow, Matplotlib and Spyder, among others, he is working on designing an intelligent agent with a global vision on the network and high adaptability. “My stay in Montreal was a wonderful and enriching experience of research, learning, collaborative work and discovery.
