During a short research stay at Polytechnique de Montréal (CERC), Gaelle worked on “Deep Neural Model Compression”, where she tackled the issue of memory space in the deployment of applications. She used Knowledge Distillation KD and other techniques to reduce the size of an enormous and powerful vision model while preserving as much of its performance as possible. This kind of work opens new frontiers for real-world AI applications. “My experience in Montréal has been enriching, stimulating and full of discovery”. Gaelle came to AIMS with an MSc and BSc in telecommunications and ICT from the University of Douala, Cameroon.
